Andromeda Robotics

The social intelligence layer for robotics, proven in aged care.

The company

Andromeda Robotics is building the social intelligence layer for robotics: the perception, memory and conversation stack that lets a machine hold a relationship with a person. They are proving it in elder care through Abi, a social companion robot running in care homes today.

What separates Abi from the wave of robotics competitors chasing the same market is the Social OS, the layer of memory, character and cognition Andromeda has built in-house, which cannot be replicated by bolting a chatbot onto hardware. The team brought in Andrew Gordon, the Pixar animator behind Mike Wazowski and Edna from The Incredibles, to shape how Abi holds eye contact and reads a room.

The impact is measurable. Aged care residents rate their satisfaction with Abi 8.8 out of 10, and staff report a real drop in loneliness among the people she spends her days with.

Why Trampoline is backing it

01

A follow-on, not a first look

Trampoline members backed Andromeda at Series A a year ago. This round is co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Innovation Victoria.

02

Defensible where it counts

The Social OS is built in-house. Competitors bolting chatbots onto hardware cannot copy memory, character and cognition.

03

Impact you can measure

Resident satisfaction of 8.8 out of 10 and a real drop in loneliness, in care homes running Abi today.
